Location

This personal favorite picture of mine was captured on the edge of a field where the forest begins; the ground was littered with foliage that was mostly withering away save for this sole flower that was in bloom amidst all the decay.

Date

This photograph was taken on the 30th of August, 2018 at the very beginning of the shifting of the colors of the leaves. The contrast between the green of the foliage behind this plant and the withering brown of the foliage fallen to the ground is part, I feel, of what makes the composition so impactful.

Inspiration

This plant was one that--like many of the subjects of my photographs--I merely happened upon while enjoying the great outdoors. In combination with the aforementioned contrast, I was also attracted to snapping a picture because of the natural chaos of the image which is a testament to the reality of the forests; however enjoyable they are, forests are innately chaotic things.
