Below you will find information regarding the various activities that will take place during a typical Young Women in STEM meeting when we aren’t listening to guest speakers, raising money, or are going to events! The activities below are subject to change, and are merely ideas. Activities during club meetings will be decided and confirmed closer to the meeting dates.
Watch a STEM related movie on less busy meeting days
Learning new STEM careers
Have a socially distant meeting at a park
Manifesting/vision boarding
Present career ideas/options
Team Building activities
Having lessons over STEM topics (medicine, engineering, computer science, etc.)
Themed meeting days (bring your pet, wear a certain color, snacking, etc)
Helping the school (tutoring other students, educating on corona, etc.)
Learn about famous women in STEM and their accomplishments
Career quizzes
STEM Speakers
We want to regularly introduce strong STEM women role models into our club! Once YWIS begins, club members will also be asked for any STEM connections, and the Events Director will assist in scheduling these speakers. Overall, our guest speakers are great for hearing first-hand experience in a variety of fields, and are awesome for networking!
